The Dahlia Gardens in the Bois de Vincennes

(actualisé le ) by Ray

A visit to the Dahlia Gardens in Paris’s botanical gardens in the Bois de Vincennes in autumn when they are in full flower is one of the highlights of any year for Marie and I and, to judge by the flocks of visitors we saw there, for a good part of the inhabitants of the greater Paris area too.

This year’s exposition was particularly impressive and was well presented, with each of the several hundred different varieties clearly identified and with large panels identifying the winners of the international competition and of the votes by journalists and by the general public.

Attached is a small sampling of the wonders seen, taken practically at random among the vast array of works of art of great beauty that surrounded us on all sides.
